Marketing and Community Relations Manager

Position Summary

The Marketing and Community Relations Manager at A Child's Haven (ACH) supports the Director of Development in the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising, donor engagement, marketing, communications, and special event initiatives. This position plays a critical role in advancing the organization's mission by assisting with development strategies, strengthening donor and community relationships, coordinating fundraising activities, and supporting marketing and communication efforts.

The Marketing and Community Relations Manager works collaboratively with staff, board members, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and community stakeholders to help achieve organizational fundraising and engagement goals. This position serves as a key administrative and operational partner to the Director of Development and helps ensure the successful implementation of development programs and initiatives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing and Communications – 40%

  • Assist in implementing marketing and communication strategies that support fundraising and organizational objectives.
  • Develop content for newsletters, email campaigns, social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc), website updates, donor communications, and promotional materials, growing all accounts.
  • Manage all social media accounts incorporating Best Practices and trends.
  • Help develop and maintain the organization's communications calendar.
  • Support and manage digital marketing initiatives and community outreach efforts.
  • Assist in collecting stories, photos, testimonials, and impact data to showcase organizational achievements.
  • Manage photo and video library, including requests for imagery from staff.
  • Ensure branding and messaging are consistent across all communication channels by utilizing the Brand Guide.
  • Coordinate communication projects and deadlines with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with event marketing, invitations, registration tracking, and attendee communications.
  • Assist with media outreach, interviews, press releases, as needed.


Event Planning and Management – 30%

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events, donor appreciation events, and community engagement activities, including TD Synnex Share the Magic and our Holiday Benefit Brunch.
  • Assist in event logistics including venue arrangements, vendors, catering, registration, volunteer support, and event materials.
  • Assist in managing event timelines, task lists, and planning schedules.
  • Assist in creation of scripting and PowerPoint for day of event.
  • Coordinate and assist staff for inclusion of ACH children and their portion of the program
  • Prepare post-event evaluations, reports, and revenue summaries.


Donor and Community Engagement – 10%

  • Serve as a professional and responsive point of contact for donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Assist with donor stewardship activities and recognition programs.
  • Support relationship-building efforts through donor visits, meetings, and special events.
  • Manage and coordinate volunteer engagement opportunities related to fundraising, events and campus needs.
  • Help strengthen community awareness and support for the organization's mission.


Volunteer Management – 10%

·        Create and implement a Volunteer Executive Leadership Team to help build out volunteer engagement and recruitment.

·        Utilize donorperfect to document volunteer hours including Board Members.

·        Manage and maintain volunteer relationships and communications.

·        Manage volunteer calendar, assignments and project needs for campus in coordination with ACH staff.

·        Assist in volunteer management for A Child’s Haven Holiday Benefit Brunch.

  • Coordinate smaller event volunteers and committee members as needed.


Development and Fundraising Support – 5%

  • Assist the Director of Development in implementing annual fundraising plans and campaigns.
  • Support donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and retention activities when needed.
  • Assist with prospect research and identification of potential donors, sponsors, and funding opportunities.
  • Prepare donor reports, fundraising materials, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Track fundraising progress and maintain accurate records of donor interactions, in-kind and gifts.
  • Assist with grant research, proposal preparation, and reporting as assigned.
  • Support the management of corporate sponsorship programs and community partnerships.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding donor and organizational information.


Database Management and Reporting – 5%

  • Learn CRM best practices and SOPs.
  • Assist in general maintenance of donor records and constituent information within the organization's CRM, when needed.
  • Assist in receipt and documentation of donations, both in-kind and financial.
  • Assist in accurate entry and tracking of gifts, pledges, sponsorships, and donor communications.
  • Maintain organized records of development activities, events, and communications.
  • Support departmental planning and implementation of strategic initiatives.


*Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization's development and marketing efforts.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.


Experience

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, event planning, marketing, communications, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting fundraising campaigns, donor relations, or community engagement activities preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and donor database/CRM systems.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and social media management tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to attend events and meetings outside regular business hours as needed.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required.
  • Ability to lift and transport event materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time as needed.
