Who We Are

We believe every child deserves hope.

A Child’s Haven is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We’re dedicated to transforming the lives of young children who have experienced developmental delays or behavioral challenges. Many are victims of poverty, child abuse or domestic violence.

We provide hope where there is no hope. We meet families where they are, and give them the tools they need to look beyond their current circumstances.

In our program, we currently serve 51 children with room to serve more as we grow additional classrooms. Our new facility is the largest treatment facility in the Southeast for children with developmental delays or behavioral challenges. Soon, our reach will include infants.

The “secret”

The evidence is clear, the “secret” to success in school, work and life is the quality of a child’s experiences during the years before they enter kindergarten. For at-risk pre-schoolers, it is their time at A Child’s Haven.

we’re committed to

  • 1

    An early start to intervention

When they join our program, our children often show signs of emotional trauma, malnutrition, or even the inability to speak or drink from a cup.

Under the close guidance of our trained clinical staff, we strengthen each child through customized therapies, love, support, and nutritious food. An onsite registered nurse monitors the child’s medical needs, and we provide daily transportation for all of our children, all at no charge to the family.

  • 2

    Intensive in-home guidance

A child’s transformation can only succeed if he or she enjoys a safe home that is healthy both physically and emotionally. The good news is that most of our parents want to do a good job raising their children — they just need someone they trust to help them learn how. We give them that help.

Over the course of a year, our clinical staff makes more than 1,500 home visits to monitor our children’s home environment and to provide one-on-one training and guidance to the parents. It’s a great deal of work, both time-consuming and sometimes tiring. But it’s also absolutely crucial for each child’s success. We’re committed to it.

  • 3

    Family
    support

We believe family support is even broader than the in-home guidance we offer. That’s why, as an affiliate of both Prevent Child Abuse South Carolina and Parents Anonymous, our family support teams lead parenting classes at our facility and around Greenville County.

Our parenting classes reinforce the one-on-one training each parent receives during our home visits, and also allow us to provide the tools parents need to raise healthy, successful children.
