A Child's Haven

Success Stories

Caroline and John1 are the young parents of two- and soon to be three- children.  Their little girls struggled in their earliest years, suffering from developmental delays that threatened their ability to lead normal, healthy lives.  And although Caroline and John love their children, the struggles of the family were sometimes just too much for them to handle.

Our Results

The work of A Child’s Haven is research-based, and we measure our results rigorously in order to deliver maximum program impact at the best possible cost.

Every child that enters our program is tested against a nationally-recognized system of metrics known as Developmental Profile II. On a case-by-case basis, some children are also tested against the Achenbach Child Behavior Checklist.

Based on their test results and the determination of our trained clinical staff, each child begins an individualized treatment program designed especially for them. The child’s progress in the treatment plan is tracked and recorded daily. In addition, our staff builds an intervention and visitation schedule with the family, in the home.

Upon discharge, every child is tested again, with the same metrics used when they first joined us.  This allows the child’s treatment progress to be accurately judged.

We are proud of our outcome measurements, and the brighter futures they enable.

  • 95% of our children are residing in a stable, consistent home one year after discharge
  • 91% are succeeding in mainstream schools one year after discharge
  • 90% of our children achieve at least 75% of their developmental objectives in-program
